When you use RepairOTG, we collect information you provide directly — such as your name, email address, phone number, and device details when making a repair booking or enquiry. We also collect information automatically, including your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and how you interact with our marketplace. Repair shops listed on our platform may collect additional information when you visit their storefront or book a repair directly.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Connect you with repair shops near you
• Process bookings and quote requests
• Send confirmation and status emails for your repairs
• Improve our search and recommendation algorithms
• Detect and prevent fraud or abuse on the platform
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Information Shared With Repair Shops

When you submit a booking or quote request through RepairOTG, we share your contact details and device information with the relevant repair shop so they can fulfil your request. Each repair shop on our platform agrees to our Partner Terms, which restrict how they may use your data. We recommend reviewing the privacy policy of any shop you engage with directly.

Cookies and Tracking

We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and remember your preferences. We also use analytics cookies to understand how our marketplace is used so we can improve it.

You can control cookie settings through your browser or via our Cookie Policy. Disabling non-essential cookies may affect some features, including location-based search.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure servers hosted in Australia (ap-southeast-2 region) via Supabase. We use industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest. Access to personal data is restricted to authorised personnel only. While we implement strong security measures, no system is completely secure and we encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your account.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
• Request deletion of your personal data
• Object to certain processing activities
• Request restriction on how we use your data
• Port your data to another service

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@repairotg.com. We will respond within 30 days. If you are located in New Zealand, you may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.

Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or regulatory purposes (such as tax records, which are kept for 7 years in accordance with NZ IRD requirements).

Children's Privacy

RepairOTG is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@repairotg.com and we will delete it promptly.

Third-Party Services

RepairOTG integrates with the following third-party services to operate the platform:

• Supabase — database and authentication hosting (Australia region)
• Resend — transactional email delivery
• Vercel — frontend hosting and CDN

Each third-party service has its own privacy policy. We only share data with third parties as necessary to operate the platform and only with providers who meet our security standards.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by placing a prominent notice on our website. Your continued use of RepairOTG after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. The date at the top of this page always reflects when it was last revised.
